Why Are Google Shares Soaring?
To understand the success and the focus of Optimum7 Internet Marketing you need to know the answer to this question. It speaks directly to the understanding of the long used phrase “the power of the internet.” What is the power of the internet? Why is Google so important? Why is the stock price $700 per share?
Google has achieved “verb-like” status in our culture. People don’t search online. They “Google.” The reason is very basic … the customer experience is nothing short of excellent. In the search world, the searcher uses Google because they get great results; great results = they find what they are looking for quickly, easily and reliably. Anything that saves time, is easy to use and engenders confidence is a winner and Google has done that in spades!
However, Google doesn’t make a dime from the organic listings that most people look for first when searching online. Google makes their money from online advertisers who pay, actually bid, to be listed as a sponsored listing on the top pages for specific keywords. So why does Google work so hard to make the organic listings work so well for online searchers? By providing, through every search query, the most relevant results, they have captured the broad acceptance and loyalty of the large majority of the online community. Knowing this, online advertisers want desperately to be on the top page for Google results relevant to their business. Through a sophisticated bidding process, free of live human interaction (no Google employees are involved) commercial businesses vie for high paid placement through the PPC (Pay Per Click) model where the advertiser pays the winning bid for each click generated.
Take into account billions of searches everyday and still growing at truly remarkable rates in a global environment and now you can begin to get the picture.
But why is this so important when marketing on the internet? As opposed to so-called traditional marketing methods including radio and TV advertising, direct mail, telemarketing, cold-calling, etc … online search only occurs through the conscious effort of the buyer, not the seller. The buyer has made a conscious decision that it is time to buy or at least to look at what’s out there. No one has interrupted him in the office or at home or cluttered his mail box all of which are unsolicited, unexpected or often intrusive to the daily routine. Simply, where else can a business get a more qualified prospect. The business has the opportunity to be found only when the buyer is interested and ready to buy!
You may have noticed that I left out the yellow pages. Actually, the yellow pages used to have the same advantage vs. all of the other marketing tactics. People only opened up the phone book when they were actually interested in calling someone and finding out more.
However, when was the last time you used the yellow pages? I probably don’t have to list the reasons why. Using Google et al is much more current (no disconnected numbers), much lighter, less guessing and no page turning … it’s in color, current and instant … AND you don’t need dozens of phone books if you are interested in expanding the geography of your search.
