Context

The Business

Rangeline Group is a leading supplier of agricultural, ranch, and outdoor equipment, serving customers through a comprehensive eCommerce catalog. As the business continued to expand, its WooCommerce site no longer provided the scalability and operational efficiency required to support long-term growth.

Rangeline Group sought to migrate to BigCommerce to modernize its eCommerce infrastructure and create a more scalable environment for its growing catalog and operations.

The Brief

The Objective

Rangeline Group needed to migrate from WooCommerce to BigCommerce without disrupting business continuity or losing the data and organic visibility built on the existing store. The new environment also needed to support the company’s storefront, backend operations, and growing product catalog.

The Stakes

Key Business Challenges

1
Migrating a Large Volume of Business Data

Rangeline Group’s WooCommerce site contained approximately 5,000 products, 20,000 customer records, and 10,000 historical orders. Products, customers, and orders had to be mapped accurately into BigCommerce so the information remained usable after launch. Website pages and blog content also needed to be transferred and formatted correctly for the new platform.

2
Protecting Organic Search Visibility

The migration to BigCommerce changed URLs across products, categories, website pages, and blog content. Existing URLs needed to point to the correct locations after launch so Rangeline Group could preserve the search visibility it had already built. This required a complete 301 redirect map across the site.

3
Connecting BigCommerce With NetSuite

Rangeline Group needed its storefront and ERP to exchange customer, product, inventory, and order data automatically. The BigCommerce environment had to connect with NetSuite through Celigo and keep that information synchronized as activity occurred across both systems. The store also needed the payment, shipping, tax, and transactional email settings required for daily operations.

4
Improving the Storefront and Product Discovery

The new storefront had to translate Rangeline Group’s approved Figma designs into a responsive BigCommerce experience across desktop and mobile. With approximately 5,000 products in the catalog, search and filtering also needed more control. Rangeline Group required autocomplete, synonym recognition, configurable filters, category navigation, and real-time results, along with an internal interface for managing those filters as the catalog changed.

The Strategic Challenge

The main challenge was coordinating several dependencies within the same migration. Changes to data, URLs, storefront functionality, ERP synchronization, and search affected different parts of the store, so each workstream had to be validated before launch.

Approach

The Strategy

1
Data Migration and SEO Preservation

Rangeline Group’s WooCommerce data was mapped and migrated into BigCommerce, including products, customers, historical orders, website pages, and blog content. Formatting was adjusted where needed for the new platform.

A sitewide 301 redirect structure connected legacy URLs to their BigCommerce destinations, helping preserve search visibility and existing inbound traffic.

2
BigCommerce Storefront Development

The approved Figma designs were developed into a responsive BigCommerce storefront for desktop and mobile. The build maintained the intended layouts, navigation, and shopping experience within the new platform.

3
NetSuite Integration and Store Configuration

The production environment was configured for payments, shipping, taxes, and transactional emails. Celigo connected BigCommerce with NetSuite and automated the synchronization of customer, product, inventory, and order data between the two systems.

4
Algolia Search and Filter Management

Algolia was integrated with autocomplete, synonym recognition, category navigation, configurable filters, and real-time search results. A custom administration interface gave Rangeline Group’s team control over search filters, while automated synchronization kept product information current as the catalog changed.

Outcome

The Results

Key Outcomes
  • Approximately 5,000 products, 20,000 customer records, and 10,000 historical orders were migrated from WooCommerce to BigCommerce.
  • Website pages and blog content were transferred and formatted for the new storefront.
  • Sitewide 301 redirects were implemented across products, categories, web pages, and blog content.
  • BigCommerce was connected with NetSuite through Celigo, automating customer, product, inventory, and order synchronization.
  • A responsive BigCommerce storefront was launched based on the client’s approved Figma designs.
  • Algolia-powered search and filtering was deployed with autocomplete, synonym recognition, configurable filters, category navigation, and an internal filter management interface.
Business Impact

Rangeline Group now operates its eCommerce store on a production-ready BigCommerce environment connected directly with NetSuite. Customer, product, inventory, and order data synchronize through Celigo, while payment, shipping, tax, and transactional email settings are managed within the new store.

The new storefront also gives customers more ways to navigate a catalog of approximately 5,000 products. Rangeline Group’s team can manage search filters internally, and product information stays aligned with catalog changes through automated synchronization.

Strategic Outcome

Rangeline Group completed its migration from WooCommerce, with its historical data, content, SEO structure, ERP connection, and catalog functionality carried into the new environment. BigCommerce now provides the company with an eCommerce platform built around the scale of its current catalog and operations, with the infrastructure in place to support continued product and order growth.
