The Brief

Why Cratos Needed a WordPress Migration

Migrate the existing Cratos website (“Skid Steers, Excavators, & Dumpers | Leaders in Electric Equipment”) to a new WordPress setup while retaining the existing design and structure.

Enhance the user experience with a sticky Call-To-Action (CTA) and sticky menus on both desktop and mobile, plus implement a new contact form aligned with the site’s design and functionality requirements.

Cratos required migrating their existing website to WordPress to improve scalability and user experience while retaining the familiar design. We focused on enhancing site usability with sticky CTAs and menus, updating navigation, and adding a new contact form, all without altering the site’s core aesthetics. This migration ensured a smooth transition that supports better user engagement and future growth.

  • Successfully migrated full site content and structure to WordPress while preserving Cratos’s brand identity and design consistency.
  • Enhanced user engagement through sticky CTAs and persistent navigation menus on all devices, improving accessibility to conversion points.
  • Developed a new, fully integrated contact form that matches the existing site styling and enhances lead capture capabilities.
  • Improved site navigation by clarifying content hierarchy and deploying optimized menu structures.
Before and After

Before and After: Cratos’s Homepage, Product and Equipment Pages

Left side: the store as the Wayback Machine captured it in May 2022, on the legacy CMS. Right side: the live WordPress store, captured Oct 2026.

The Wayback Machine did not preserve the old site’s stylesheets, so the 2022 captures show page structure without its styling.

Homepage Before and After: A Persistent Contact Us CTA on Every Scroll

The WordPress homepage keeps the logo, Equipment, Testimonials and Resources menu and a blue Contact Us button fixed to the top of the page as the visitor scrolls, with “Making Hard Work Easy for Over a Decade” and an Explore Equipment call to action in the hero and live chat pinned bottom-right.

Why it matters. The brief asked for sticky CTAs and menus on desktop and mobile. That header is the deliverable.

Product Page Before and After: Spec Sheets Replace the Shop Placeholder

The 2022 product page listed a Sherpa bucket attachment with a price and a “Shop coming soon” note. The 100ECO page today shows a 5-star rating, a spec grid (indoor safe, up to 9 hr runtime, 30 in wide, 500+ lbs capacity, recharges in 14 hrs, elevator safe), a Contact Us button and a customer testimonial.

Why it matters. Electric equipment is sold on specs and a conversation. The page is built for both.

Equipment Page Before and After: Side-by-Side Machine Comparison Tables

The old category page was a WooCommerce archive with a search box. The Equipment page now has tabs for Skid Steers, Track Loaders, Dumpers, Excavators, Wheelbarrows and Material Movers, each opening a comparison table of voltage, runtime, life cycles, width, recharge time, carrying weight, dump height, machine weight and speed.

Why it matters. The comparison table uses WordPress native templates, which is what kept the project to 27 days.
