Using PPC to Increase Traffic

First page search engine results are the best way to generate traffic to your website. They are also the most difficult to obtain organically.  These coveted positions involve intense online competition, sophisticated SEO (Search Engine Optimization) processes, onsite / on-page modifications and refinements and a steady stream of new content.  Further, these results can take weeks, months, and yes, years for the most competitive terms.  While there is no question that SEO is essential for any credible long-term search engine marketing strategy, what is the short term strategy to get found by these same searchers while SEO is “in the oven?”  PPC (Pay per Click) is the primary means of delivering first page results and increase relevant website traffic.

Converting Visitors to Buyers

Search Engine Marketing is only 50% complete when you start getting visitors to your website in volume due to successfully achieving high rankings for your targeted keywords. You now have visitors … now you need buyers.

No one knows on day one what will convert visitors to buyers. We know that the first objective is to get the attention of the buyer within a few seconds because that is all the time you have to “grab” the visitor. Website visitors have a short attention span and an even shorter level of patience to find what they are looking for. After all, they are just one click away from looking for someone else.

Website Optimization

Website Optimization and Internet Marketing are synonymous terms.  The major supporting cast or specialty is Search Engine Optimization or SEO.

However SEO is often misunderstood.   It is not at all unusual to speak with prospective clients that think SEO is all about meta tags, title tags and even “tricks.”  However so-called White Hat SEO or “ethical” SEO or much more accurately, EFFECTIVE SEO, involves no tricks and the lexicon of meta tags and title tags does little justice to the true scope of what is involved in SEO.
