There are thousands of marketing consulting firms. When choosing a marketing firm, be sure that they offer digital marketing as a service. It is no longer effective to use TV and print media as primary marketing platforms. There are over 200 television channels and thousands of newspapers that reach millions of people. This means that your marketing campaign is not targeted. This is broad, outbound marketing that can be very costly and ineffective.

Paid Search vs. Organic Search
Internet Marketing involves many components; chief among them are Paid Search and Organic Search. Some do not know the difference. Others don’t know whether, and under what circumstances each should be used.
The Difference
Paid Search is the placement of advertising on the first page of Search Engine Result Pages (SERPs). SERPs are always unique because they are generated based on the searcher’s entry of a keyword or a keyword phrase. So, the availability of advertising space on the very first page of these results is most attractive. Most Paid Search, such as Google Adwords, is driven by a bidding model where the advertiser must bid a Cost per Click (CPC) to have their ad placed. The bid is for keywords/phrases that the advertiser wishes to have visibility for. Paid Search Ads appear generally above and to the right of the organic results; so, in essence paid ads compete with naturally occurring results for the attention of surfers.

Organic Search Engine Rankings

Wikipedia defines Search Engine Optimization (SEO) as the process of improving the volume or quality of traffic to a web site from search engines via “natural” (“organic” or “algorithmic”) search results. Typically, the earlier a site appears in the search results list, the more visitors it will receive from the search engine. SEO may target different kinds of search, including image search, local search, and industry-specific vertical search engines.

Search Around the World — The Google Reality
It is now estimated that there are over 1.5 million searches conducted worldwide EVERY MINUTE! With the exception of China, Google dominates around the world just the same way it has in the US since its inception about a decade ago.
This ongoing and still evolving domination worldwide by Google sets the stage for US Marketers to increasingly target foreign customers. The world is getting smaller by the minute and Google is a major driver. Successful US online marketers can and will become successful international marketers by duplicating its online presence on the dozens of Google Search Engines internationally.

Why You Need to Understand Latent Semantic Indexing
Latent Semantic Indexing (LSI) is the underlying root of the entire major search engines' algorithms. There is a complicated Wikipedia version here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Latent_semantic_indexing .. that goes into detail of the Matrix relationship of words, but to really understand it you will need some knowledge and understanding of Calculus and Advanced Algebra, and have not slept through the Derivatives and Matrices parts of class. I will attempt to show you a simplified version of it.
Guess the theme/keyword of this next sentence:
"I love linguini, spaghetti, and angel hair. I also like rotini, bow ties, and macaroni."
Here is the same concept of the sentence with stuffed keywords:
