Differences in SEO Strategies for Google, Yahoo and Bing

Anyone who has a website knows that search engines are the boss. If they're not happy with the content of your site, then no one is because it will never be found by anyone else. Understanding what they ‘like’ and avoiding the things they don’t is the best way to get results. Historically, Google has been the powerhouse – garnering the overwhelming majority of searchers. The reason for this is straight forward; real people love Google because the results are fast and relevant. With the recent release of Microsoft’s Bing and their partnership with Yahoo, there is more hope for more formidable competition. There are a growing niche of Bing lovers now preferring this search engine based on some of its unique display and access functionalities. Still, it is still a relatively small player, albeit moving in the right direction. BUT – how do you optimize a website to achieve first page results on all three of these major engines.

SEO Marketing for Local Businesses

The Internet has, in effect, flattened the world. Businesses now have the ability to produce products in one country, administer business in another and sell to yet a third. This has opened up a world of possibilities for even small businesses to advertise to a worldwide audience. In many instances, this exposure has led to positive change in sales. It has also led many businesses to ignore what used to be their bread and butter, local sales. However broad your campaign, it's still important that you reach your local audience, especially in certain industries, like real estate, home services, legal, accounting, medical and retail. Local marketing is an often overlooked, but intensely valuable form of SEO marketing.

PPC Google Ads vs. PPC Banner Ads

Two of the most popular choices in paid internet marketing today are Pay per Click Ads with Google, and Pay per Click Banner Ads. Each presents an excellent, but distinct opportunity, so their characteristics should be weighed carefully. Does Google Advertisement Work?

There is a lot of hype surrounding Google Advertisement through AdWords, but does their program live up to it all? This is a really important question to answer, as Google clearly leads all online internet advertising brands. Google's PPC (Pay per Click) program works immediately to produce results that organic SEO can take months to achieve. However, in assessing Adwords, you must first define success. Is Adwords your entire online marketing approach or is it part of a broader, more diversified set of strategies to promote your online business? Is it a short, intermediate or long term strategy? How many clicks does it take to make a sale? What is your net profit / sale? Is it worth it? Clearly you have to answer these questions, be conservative and really do the math so that you know what success really looks like.

Finding Relevant Keywords

Once you have developed a website, your next step is marketing that website to achieve the highest visibility, the greatest number of site visits and conversions. When is Affiliate Marketing Effective?

There is a simple answer to this question. There is no such thing as a good deal unless the deal is a good deal for both parties. Affiliate marketing in its most simple form is about a deal that exists between 2 parties; the seller of a product or service and the affiliate who receives commission, but only based upon certain defined criteria. The criteria used for affiliate compensation can be a sale, a completed form or any other electronically measurable interaction that the seller deems to have enough value to pay compensation. So in its most basic form, Affiliate Marketing can only be effective when the sales and compensation arrangement benefits both the seller and the affiliate.

While Google Adwords is readily utilized through the abundant tools offered by Google, when you are utilizing AdWords services for your websites, one of the considerations that you may make relates to whether or not you should be outsourcing your Adwords management, so that you can free time up for other purposes. If your time is valuable and you believe that it can be better spent in some other way, or you worry that you are not qualified to make the revisions required on an AdWords account, then it may be advisable for you to consider bringing someone onto your team to manage your AdWords services. Outsourcing your Adwords’ services potentially is the smartest decision you can make.

How to Increase Conversions

Many mistakenly exclude conversions when evaluating SEO (Search Engine Optimization) performance. It is not enough to just get the great rankings. If no one is converting from the site / page visit, the money, time and effort to get the rankings are really wasted. This is why Conversion Optimization is the real bottom line of all Internet Marketing.
