When to Hire an SEO Copywriter

Let’s make an upfront assumption.  You already have a website with the page content already done.  You have your on-page SEO elements like titles, meta descriptions, and your sitemap all ship-shape.  You recognize or have been advised that the addition of new content to the site and getting Backlinks are essential to getting ranked on the search engines and critical to SEO processes. A lot of assumptions here, however necessary, to establish the focus of this writing.

Here are the questions you need to answer:

  1. Can you write?
  2. Do you have time to write 2-3 articles of 500 words each every week?
  3. Can you write a Press Release every 90 days?
  4. Can you post a 200-300 word blog every day?
  5. Does your SEO Company research topics based on expert keyword research?

It’s that simple because this is the commitment to content that you must have to be successful in SEO.  Great, non-duplicate content is the fuel of SEO.  Without it, your website isn’t going anywhere competitively.

It is because many of our clients cannot answer yes to the first 4 questions, that we offer SEO Copywriting Services.  Your beautiful website is wasted if you can’t be found … and you cannot be found if you don’t generate great high value backlinks … and you can’t get those backlinks without great content and expert dissemination and syndication.

Questions you should ask an SEO Copywriter

  1. Do you offer topic research?
  2. Are all of your writers English-fluent?
  3. Are they college graduates?
  4. Do they know the difference between website copywriting (on-page) and SEO copywriting?

Search Engines are about keywords / phrases … all text, as this is the input from the searcher.  Keyword research is critical because it is important to identify the universe of keywords that searchers are entering, the popularity or volume of the keywords, the relative competition of the keywords.  Priorities of keywords need to be established as SEO needs to target on the keywords of greatest opportunity in accord with the business objectives of the website.

However, keyword research is also critical to establish topics (article titles) that are relevant to the searching public.  In this way, the SEO copywriting articles, blogposts and other content is reflecting what people (and the search engines) want.  Once written and posted on the site and the blog, the work is far from done.  The content itself needs to be promoted and ultimately published and / or linked to from high value websites i.e. promotion and syndication all for the purpose of generating quality backlinks.  This is the essence of the online competition vying for the top spots on Google et al … it is the essence then of SEO.

It is only with this understanding, that you can understand the importance and exactly when to hire an SEO Copywriter.
