Many business owners erroneously believe that optimizing a website to obtain top ranking results with the major search engines is all that is required to ensure successful conversions. While it is true that the number of visitors a website has is often a determining factor in the number of successful conversions, it should not be considered the only factor. In fact, the overall design and layout of a site, as well as its content, plays an even bigger role in converting a visitor. Websites that are cluttered or confusing will often see most visitors leave their site within 10 seconds. Studies show that the typical website has less than 10 seconds to convince a visitor to stay. Obviously, the design of a site is of paramount importance. North Dakota web site design, in particular, involves a series of techniques designed to encourage North Dakota visitors to click through a North Dakota-based site and hopefully to convert.

How Do I Optimize My Site for Google
Optimizing your website in order to improve its visibility and search engine rankings is a critical part of your business plan. The following highlights what we at Optimum7 feel you need to know about optimizing any commercial website.
- On Site Optimization – This was the only way SEO was possible in the 1990s. However, it’s still valid today. The Title of the page is the most important element on the site. “Meta Description” can still make a difference although some SEOs would disagree. In our experience, an “H1 Tag” and “Image Alt Tags” are essential as well. Of course, the competition should always be analyzed before making these edits or changes. Overall, the page must be relevant to the term which is targeted.

How to submit a sitemap to all Search Engines using Robots.txt
I discovered this about a week ago and it frankly surprised me. Apparently the Robots.txt file has a new agreed upon protocol for implementing sitemaps
To simply add a sitemap to your robots.txt file simple open it in a text editor and input the following example:
SITEMAP: http://www.(yourURL).com/(yoursitemap).xml
That's it. By adding this code to your Robots.txt you have allowed all major search engines, Google, Yahoo, MSN, and Ask.com, and minor ones, the ability to see your sitemap and properly index your website according to your choices.
