Guaranteed SEO Results… Really?

Nobody can claim "guaranteed rankings." For anyone who's in the process of seeking SEO services, this should be a huge red flag. Is it possible to guarantee the future strategies of your competitors? Of social networking sites like Facebook or MySpace? Or of search engines? Of course it isn't. Those that claim guaranteed rankings are telling you what you want to hear; not what you need to know. Be careful about “play on words” i.e. “guaranteed page 1 of Google” can be achieved by placing ads (sponsored listings or PPC) that will show up on page … this is NOT SEO because SEO generate organic rankings … the ones that fill the main body of the page.

SEO Marketing for Local Businesses

The Internet has, in effect, flattened the world. Businesses now have the ability to produce products in one country, administer business in another and sell to yet a third. This has opened up a world of possibilities for even small businesses to advertise to a worldwide audience. In many instances, this exposure has led to positive change in sales. It has also led many businesses to ignore what used to be their bread and butter, local sales. However broad your campaign, it's still important that you reach your local audience, especially in certain industries, like real estate, home services, legal, accounting, medical and retail. Local marketing is an often overlooked, but intensely valuable form of SEO marketing.

Why Do We Need Marketing?

For anyone who runs a business of any kind, you'll know that the true question is not whether we need marketing, but how much do we need? A store owner can have the best products available on the market, and a top notch staff, and they will still flounder financially if no one is able to find their product. Even word of mouth is a form of marketing. It's impossible to simply put out a great product and expect to get financial rewards. As with any business, it takes money to make money. An investment in marketing is equally, if not more important than, the investments you make inventory and staff.
