Search Engine Optimization Marketing

Search Engine Optimization is the process of utilizing search engine marketing to promote a website resulting in highly visible organic listings on major search engines including Google, Yahoo and Bing. Generally speaking, the more frequently and higher a site appears in the search results, the more visitors the site will receive via the search engine. There are 2 effectively utilized forms of search engine marketing: Organic Listings and Pay per Click (PPC).  Pay per click is an advertising model used on many search engines where advertisers pay the search engine when the ad is clicked and for prime positioning on the search engine site. If you take a look at Google, you may notice that there are a few listings posted on the side of the search results and there may even be listings in a shaded color at the top of the search page. These are the PPC listings which are usually sponsored ads.

Google AdWords vs. Microsoft adCenter

Google AdWords and Microsoft adCenter are both very useful tools when it comes to launching a PPC campaign. While there are some differences between the two, they can be equally efficient at getting your PPC campaign exposure.

Google AdWords

Google definitely has a larger market share than adCenter. Google has been in the internet advertising business for a long time, and they have more experience. Quite frankly, they’re rather good at what they do. AdWords has been reaching millions of users daily for a considerable period of time. People respect Google, and subsequently their paid advertisements, as a trusted provider of information. So, your AdWords campaign gains that respect.

Manage PPC; Prices and Costs?

Did you know that 30% of consumers and 50% of businesses trust the sponsored links that appear in a Google search? Those people have no problem clicking on those links first. So, now that you have your website, how do you tap into that market? And once you do, what is it going to cost you?

Pay per click marketing involves using keywords to write line ads that appear when your customers conduct a specific search. For example, maybe you sell digital cameras. So, a user just has to type in digital cameras, and your pay per click ad would show up on the side of the search index, keeping it from getting buried among the thousands of results that pop up.  However, without the proper keywords, your pay per click campaign will not be successful.

Landing Page Design

One of the most important elements of a website design is a landing page. These pages, where visitors first ‘land’ after clicking an advertisement or search engine result, are crucial to your success for several reasons. Every element of their design and layout needs to be focused on grabbing the visitors’ attention and convincing them to stay on your site, possibly convert into a sale. Typical users will decide to stay or leave within ten seconds. The overall design of each landing page should be targeted to prequalifed visitors, be clear and free of clutter, and include an obvious call to action. Landing pages designed by professionals with an expert focus on these three critical areas are the most effective.
